Foamex (foamed PVC) and Forex are the most widely used rigid substrates for signs because they combine lightness, rigidity and a competitive price. Which one to choose depends on where the piece will go and how long it needs to last.

Foamex boards: light, rigid and affordable for indoor use

3 to 5 mm foamex is the most affordable option for indoor posters, signs and displays. It is lightweight, easy to hang and takes direct printing in very sharp detail.

High-density Forex: for outdoor and long-term use

Forex is a high-density foamed PVC that is more rigid and moisture-resistant. We recommend it for outdoor use, for signs that will be on display for months, and for pieces that will be handled frequently.

Frequently asked questions about foamex and Forex printing

Standard foamex comes in 3–5 mm and is ideal for short-term signs or indoor use. Forex is a high-density foamed PVC with greater rigidity, moisture resistance and outdoor durability.
We print foamex and Forex in standard sizes (A3, A2, A1, A0) and made to measure. Usual thicknesses are 3 mm, 5 mm and 10 mm. For very large formats we print in sections with invisible joins.
Standard foamex can withstand moderate outdoor exposure for a few weeks. For long-term outdoor use we recommend high-density Forex with UV inks or a protective laminate.
We print at 720–1440 dpi depending on the final size and use. For large formats viewed from a distance, 100 dpi at full size is enough. For small pieces or those viewed up close, we work at 300–1440 dpi.
Yes. Our CNC cutter handles straight, curved or custom profiles. We can produce letters, shapes or cut-outs in foamex for displays and indoor signage.
